 new radio
so i again acquired more gear from friends, a programmable, 4/5w, 400-480 MHz UHF radio, with 4 out of 5 years left on a transferable FCC license. 60 bones. what kind of radios do you guys use? FRS/ GMRS, UHF/VHF? i also now have a chart showing specific freq's corresponding to FRS and GMRS channels too. man i'm just getting deals left and right! it's just too bad i am constantly on orders or training so i rarely get to use any of it!

 Re: new radio
Oh how do you two like it? I was trying one of these on two days ago and am thinking about rocking it at Op Ok Invasion. Mine are just to big and bulky.

 Re: new radio
Kevin, PM Laughing Jackal or Flash about the radio stuff, they should be able to help you.
Chest Rig: I have the OD version and I love it! When mine falls apart I'll buy another! PROS Integrated mag pouches conserves space and is lower profile. The carrier for your hydration is not huge, which allows your back to get more air flow. Plenty of MOLLE strips to attach additional pouches Rugged Able to maneuver/Not confining Much more breathable than the fuller rigs Inexpensive! $20 is a great buy!
CONS Velcro in the center SUCKS!! However, this is easily fixed. I ripped/cut the velcro out and use the snaps instead. That's it, that's my only bitch about this rig.

kevin wrote: well if mine had the bib it would be a lot better, but even without it its still super comfortable... I took mine off. I really wasn't using it for anything and it allows for better air flow. If it sat tighter against the chest I would have attached a STRIKE holster to it for a pistol. So I just took it off. I still have it and plan to modify it to cinch up more securely to eventually do a holster on it, but haven't yet. LT

 Re: new radio
The velcro is really the only con to that rig. I am planning on taking mine to a seamtress and having a heavy duty zipper installed. Tech has a zipper installed and I believe he loves it.

SecretSquirrel wrote: Where did you get yours LT? I got it from Cheaperthandirt.com, but that was when it was $30. Now they are $40, so Kevin actually got a hell of a deal!!! SecretSquirrel wrote: I didn't realize you had the same one cause I knew yours buckled so I thought it was a different one. Lol I think because I have modified it so much, attached all kinds of shit to it, painted it, etc... It only has one buckle and three snaps. Stryper wrote: I am planning on taking mine to a seamtress and having a heavy duty zipper installed. Kevin, instead of cutting out the only adjustment you have for that rig, you may consider this. When my snaps fail, I'll be taking it into my tactical tailor to have a heavy duty zipper put in as well. LT
